My Story

My  sister first  introduced me  to   weaving  one  afternoon  in  her  home.      I  was  fascinated  that  I  could  make  something  so  functional  using  just  my  hands  and  found  grasses.  The  meditative  act  of  foraging  the  fibres  , caring  for  them  whilst  they  dry and   then  weaving  them  into  a  funtional  item  is  so  humbling  and  rewarding. My  ethos  is:  what   has come  from  the  earth,  returns  to  the  earth  once  discarded,  leaving  no  footprint  🌏

My Background

Formally  trained  in  the  soft  furnishing  industry ,  I  still  run  a  busy  workroom ,  making  bespoke  soft  furnishings.  I was  a  regular  creative   contributor to the Womens Weekly handmade magazine and have run many workshops. I am self  taught  in  the  art  of  weaving and love to whip up a batch of soap.

My Medium

I prefer  to  use  ony  found  or  foraged  fibres  for  weaving  but  also like  to  play  with  hemp  and  linen  twine  incorporating  crochet  into  my art  pieces.  My  soaps  contain  cold  Pressed  virgin  olive  oil,  coconut    and  pure  plant  based  essential  oils.  .
